| the region Eyzahut is a
lovely village situated in the Drôme provençale, the
southern part of the department of the Drôme. This
region is bounded by the Provence and this means: a lot
of sun, olive trees, beautifully smelling lavenderfields,
gorgeous fruits and millions and millions of stars in
velvet skies
Nature in the Drôme is even more
varied than in the Provence. The old villages are less
restored, and therefore they are still quite authentic.
The region is known for its potteries and its wine-growing
villages (Côtes du Rhône).
There is a lot to discover in the cultural field as well:
beautiful old churches, castles, museums, art galleries,
expositions and many concerts of all sorts. Lots of
possibilities for hiking and cycling (attention cyclists:
sometimes the little roads may be steep here and there!).
Super bathing up to July in the clear waters of the
little river Roubion. In July and August you can use the
swimming pool of Eyzahut (at only a three minutes walk
from the gîte). A tennis court close to the house can be
rented as well and there are several possibilities for
horseback riding.

the
village The village of Eyzahut sits
between Montélimar and Dieulefit, at 500 m above sea-level,
on the first range of hills east of the Rhône-valley (splendid
views as far as the Ardèche-mounts, at the other side of
the Rhône).
Characteristic of Eyzahut are its cliffs: an impressive
rocky wall, several kilometers long. At the top of it
there are beautiful grassfields inviting you for a walk
and a romantic picknick. You can reach the fields via
easy, or via less easy paths. Their highest point is at
about 1000 m.
Eyzahut has only 117 inhabitants but the village is proud
of its intensive social life.
